Resilience Spotlight: Scott Wilcox Risk Strategist and Resilience Expert
1. Overview of who I am
Scot Wilcox is the founder of Sicuro Group, a premier global risk and strategic consulting firm that excels in tech-driven solutions for geopolitical, safety and security, economic, and integrity risks.
My experience combines entrepreneurialism with deep expertise in security and logistics. With over 20 years of experience in challenging regions, I am driven by a passion for solving complex problems through technology, critical thinking, and collaboration.
2. What resilience means to me and how I apply resilience
Resilience, to me, means preparation. Including understanding vulnerabilities, building partnerships and leveraging technology to become more prepared. Constantly absorbing information and then being agile and adaptable enough to de-risk or accept the risk.
We help leaders manage risk for market entry, acquisitions, partnerships, change, growth, asset and reputation protection. Our headquarters in UAE but we have additional offices in UK, US, KSA and support ongoing operations in over 50 countries.
One example, we successfully de-risked a $53 million investment for a European consortium, enabling them to commence gold extraction operations in East Africa. By leveraging our local network and drawing upon our understanding of the local regulatory landscape, we helped our clients overcome several bureaucratic hurdles, mitigate political, and community risks, and identify, contract, and measure the performance of local service providers.
Another example is the ongoing enterprise resilience support for an international Tech giant. This includes gap analyses, pilot implementation and dedicated full project implementation delivering enterprise resilience, business continuity, structural architecture discovery, training & exercising. In addition to supporting governance and assurance provisions to various parts of the business. These deliverables have been in support of business requirements to meet and exceed various Government’s compliance standards.
These examples exemplify and underpin my version of resilience, which is proactive, comprehensive, and adaptable. By preparing for challenges before they arise, we empower organizations to not only survive but thrive in a constantly evolving global landscape.
3. What I am Working On

We are committed to building strong, trust-based relationships with local stakeholders. This not only serves as a great resilience tool in the regions we operate, but has proven to be a key factor in our ability to operate safely and successfully in high-risk regions.
It's not always the easiest path, but it's the one that works for us and our clients.
We've found that by empowering local communities and businesses, we not only enhance the safety and efficiency of our operations but also contribute to the long-term stability and prosperity of the regions in which we work.
This is the core of Sicuro Group's philosophy – creating value for all stakeholders through partnership, trust, and a deep understanding of the local context.
